TOUGH NEVER QUITS
While so much of what you see during the Super Bowl commercial breaks tends to be maximum humor and over-the-top celebrity shenanigans, we found it a breath of fresh air when the good folks at D&G brought us in to score their emotional and moving film for Kia. While some fans might already have known that the The Raiders’ Josh Jacobs spent some time homeless as a child, the Super Bowl seemed an excellent opportunity for the brand to create further awareness and raise some money for the cause. The spot itself was beautifully shot and edited, taking us through an imagined interaction between current, successful Josh and young, suffering Josh. Our score needed to be both powerful and emotional, without becoming heavy handed or cliché. In the end, a simple piano and string score with a haunting theme was precisely the recipe we needed. This ended up being a deep collaboration with the agency, as everything had to be just right. The spot was well received, but more importantly, thousands of dollars were raised. We are humbled that D&G and Kia entrusted us with such an important and high-profile assignment. And we are so very proud to be associated with it!
